Usually two different things, Republicans have learned to codify and sanitize their answers to mislead the public.
For example, when Republicans tell you that they are all for economic prosperity, they don’t specify whose prosperity. The rich will get richer and the poor poorer…so be it. Trickle Down Economics is a wonderful concept that will bring America prosperity.
Corporations are people…this one is the ultimate humdinger, so if these corporations are people, then let’s tax them at the same rate we are taxing the middle class.
We have to make Obama a one term President…sure buddy… It will be much easier to eliminate Medicare, Medicaid and privatize Social Security while preserving tax breaks for the rich with a Republican in the White House and control of both houses of the legislature.
Raising of the debt ceiling is like writing a check with insufficient funds and giving Obama the green light to spend more of our money. What Republicans mean is that the President has to be trapped into a corner where he has absolutely no funds to fix the economy and eliminate unemployment. Economic misery translates into votes for Republicans. For Republicans, it was preventing any tax increase for upper-income families, for Democrats, it was ensuring no cuts to Social Security, Medicaid and a handful of other programs that aid the elderly and the poor.
Republicans will tell you that Social Security will be better off privatized, it is after all a very cruel Ponzi scheme. What they don’t tell you is that there are many Wall Street types just salivating at the prospect so they can rake in more money and have another Stock Market crash where our seniors will see all their savings wiped out. That is what I call a real Ponzi scheme.
Low taxes on job creators, no new taxes, extend the Bush Tax Cuts because they create jobs. Be aware of this one because it is totally the opposite…the job creators they say benefit from lower taxes haven’t created many jobs since Bush gave them the tax cuts or we would be swimming in jobs by now. Also, these “job creators” are laying off people to increase profits, creating jobs overseas and taking their corporate profits and investing them abroad.
ObamaCare will bankrupt America, it was adopted in the middle of the night using undemocratic tactics. Right, and my 95 year old mother is so unhappy with it as unhappy as people with pre-existing conditions, or those denied their claims by insurance companies therefore making it a real DEATH PANEL. Adopted in the middle of the night…not…it was argued, delayed, watered down, compromised and changed over a period of a year to end up with a very weak Health Care Reform plan when the majority of Americans actually favored A PUBLIC OPTION.
I (Republicans) believe in the sanctity of marriage and the definition of marriage is that of one between a man and a woman. What they mean is that they believe that inserting a penis into a vagina makes them superior and in good graces with the Creator. The definition itself is a matter that codifies their ability to discriminate, humiliate and persecute homosexuals. What Republicans really want is for government to persecute homosexuals; that is the only legitimate use of government for Republicans…to play the moral police and to force the American people to live under a theocracy.
