REPUBLICANS HAVE THE AUDACITY TO CALL IT CLASS WARFARE

While the middle class and the poor have been losing that war for decades

What is now different is that people are on to their antics…no more can you utter a magic phrase or a key word that would scare people off…why the mere mention of LIBERAL, SOCIALIST, and PROGRESSIVE used to scare the shit out of ordinary Americans; enough to collectively keep us awake at night in a cold sweat.

Yet, they have seen how the redistribution of the wealth has taken place and there can be no doubt that what Republicans want is to change the whole nomenclature of government and have a ruling class…a PLUTOCRACY if you will…now, that is a lot scarier than LIBERAL or SOCIALIST to most of us.

It is a clear indication that with 1% of the people getting richer by the minute and refusing to pay their fair share of taxes while the country languishes in an economic crisis caused by those very revenue reductions the Republicans began and now they want even more…are they nuts? To me that sounds like the destruction of the middle class…not class warfare to ask the rich to pay their fare share.

We have seen also how their concept of giving more breaks for the rich and corporations have not created jobs…just the opposite…so that this argument they use is totally false.

The "Buffett Rule," said President Obama this morning would require those earning more than $1 million a year to pay the same share of their income in taxes as middle-class families do. The reason for calling it the “Buffet Rule” is that Mr. Buffet remarked that he was actually paying a much lower tax rate than his secretary. This of course smacks of unfair tax structuring and an askew class engineering where the rich who are doing very well will continue to pay less while the rest of us pay more and lose all of our safety nets.

Republicans came out already saying it's "class warfare" -- that's their rhetorical smokescreen for providing millionaires and billionaires special treatment and of course a scare phrase that has worked for them in the past to scare the shit out of ordinary Americans.

As the President said this morning, "This is not class warfare -- it's math."

The wealthiest Americans don't need further tax cuts and in many cases aren't even asking for them. Requiring that they pay their fair share is the only practical way forward. The Republican alternative is to drastically slash education, gut Medicare, let roads and bridges crumble, and privatize Social Security. That's not the America we believe in -- but many in the Republican leadership actually prefer those policies, which explain their refusal to act.

A lot of Americans are not paying close attention to the nuances and details of what the Republicans stand for and when a Republican speaks of “TAX INCREASES” it confuses people into thinking that their taxes are going to be raised when they are already beleaguered by a shrinking economy, unemployment and a reduction in their incomes. But don’t worry…there are people like myself out here who will never let them get away with it and will point out that we are in the mess we find ourselves in because of the failed policies and incompetence of Bush and even other Republicans before him…they have to take responsibility for our misery, they have to own it and we have to recognize who is causing our misery.
