Teabaggers could very well get to hold the reins of power
But has anyone considered the consequences of a radical, right wing, anarchist, theocratic, tyrannical plutocracy being forced on the American people?
Most people can’t even begin to envision such a scenario; those of us who call it out, who actually point to the dangers and the possibilities are called alarmists; why they even question if we are on drugs for saying such a thing. In the minds of most people that “will never happen here”
More than 53 years ago, I was still a youngster but a very aware one and I thought the same thing: “It could never happen here” and there it is…the Castro brothers are still there after 52 years of repression and misery inflicted upon the Cuban people. There are parallels to both and many similarities, so let us not discard the possibility that America could be on its way to ruin, possible conflict and civil unrest.
The middle class in America has been the backbone of the society; the economy and the very spirit of freedom and democratic participation, if you decimate the middle class the way the Republicans have been doing for the past few decades then you are destroying America.
One thing seems clear; the American people are resilient and are able to overcome an economic crisis or a war of global proportions at great cost of life and treasure. The American people could not, will not tolerate an economic crisis coupled with the loss of freedom and the dismantling of social safety nets; they will not stand for voter disenfranchising and they certainly will not go along with the Tea Party agenda…no matter how frustrated, how misguided, misinformed and strapped economically they are. No, no way, Americans will not put up with it.
These questions I am presenting you with I think are worth considering and giving it some thought: How long do you think that a senior citizen whose Social Security has been reduced or eliminated be able to pay rent, buy food and medicines? How will he/she survive? How long will it be before this senior motivated by despair will take up a weapon and use it? Yet, there are millions of seniors out there, many of which have military and weaponry experience as they are veterans of Viet Nam or other wars. Likewise, how long do you think that a father of a child who has died because their Medicaid was eliminated will not take it out on some right wing politician? Or…how about an HIV gay who not only has seen his rights denied and violated and his person humiliated by criminalizing what he is…then awaits death in a few months because ADAP no longer provides the meds he needs to survive? Will he too strap a bomb on to himself; after all, death is but a few months away anyhow? How about black people? After seeing so many years of oppression, from slavery to Jim Crow and when they finally get a glimmer of hope for equality they are hit with a double whammy…unemployment and right wing racism…how long will they stay in their homes and starve to death?
I think that most of those wealthy and even some of those at the helm of industry can see it clearly. Many of them have pointed out that armed conflict is possible and could result in anarchy and chaos. Warren Buffet is among those saying so as well as many others.
There are some like the Koch brothers and others who work behind the scenes to fund the Tea Bag Party and yet, those who are the rank and file, the followers are ironically uneducated, ignorant or misinformed...to them facts and evidence makes no difference nor does science. It is a paradox that these blind followers don't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of.
It is interesting to speculate how these super wealthy would fare in the face of a total collapse of society and the economy…sure, they might avoid some of the unpleasant inconveniences, but eventually it will reach them too. How long do you think that these magnates and captains of industry can hold up behind barricades in their gated estates? How much of that gold they amassed will do them any good if there is nobody to buy it?
So, my question to the Koch brothers and others who support the Republican-Teahadist movement is simply this: How much more wealth do you need or want? Is it worth it to you to destroy America to get richer? Are you not rich enough already? Why are you doing this to your country and to your fellow countrymen?
And please, don’t give me the crap that the Koch brothers and other wealthy folks have been maligned by the liberal media and are just victims of their askew ideology.
