WHEN I HEAR SOMEONE SAY: “I’M A CONSERVATIVE”

I think of conservation of the environment and the preservation of society

For the life of me I can’t understand the misnomer these Republican-Teahadists have chosen because to conserve is to keep something that is good or worth saving but that is not what they are doing.

What it seems is that they don’t want to be conservatives but rather radical, retrograde and negative and bring our country back a couple of centuries when it was acceptable to have immense wealth and oppress the masses without hearing a peep from them.

But essentially, being conservative is a contradiction because we all know that change is inevitable and it is incumbent upon us to make that change a positive one. If you tell me that you want to keep things as they are, that is where you and I part ways because as I look around and I see thousands of things that need changing I recoil at the thought that you don’t see that and want to have more of the same without improvements or a step forward.

I have always held the belief that my most important duty as a human is to leave this world a better place than I found it. Conservatives not only want to keep things that are bad but want to go even further than that and make them worse…mind you, they know this and still insist in maintaing the status quo and destroying those things that do work like Social Security.

And then again, one can’t expect much from a group of ignorant, misinformed and racist bunch that makes up for the majority of the Republican-Teahadist party who have chosen the Tea Party theme much to the contrary of what those patriots stood for in the face of tyranny and taxation without representation. If anything, there is far too much representation for Republicans and too little taxation for that 1% of the wealthy who own them.
