Why this idea that government is too big and has to be downsized by outsourcing is preposterous
I have often said that the Republican-Teahadists are not just confused and misinformed but they have come to a point where they believe anything they fabricate without even considering consequences, costs, facts and adverse effects just opposite of what they want to achieve.
The idea of privatizing everything is a gem…of course some Wall Street types are salivating at the prospect of so much that is now done by government to fall into their grubby, greedy hands. We have seen how well all these military private contractors overspend, overbill, and fritter away our hard earned dollars while at the same time giving America a bad rap by their arrogance and stupid behavior.
If one is to look at health care for example, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the health insurance companies are skimming a lot of the profits therefore adding to the already high costs; they are in existence to make a profit, not to actually perform any useful function…just being the middle man and being fucking parasites.
It is not difficult to imagine what would happen to Social Security if it is placed in the hands of greedy speculators. Medicare and Medicaid of course would bite the dust because there is no profit involved and even public education would be eliminated making education itself a privilege very few will be able to afford.
So I say to you Republican-Teahadists: I don’t know where you get information (other than Fox) but the rest of us are seeing very clearly why your ideology is perverse and askew.
Note: The infographic on top of the page was inspired by a recent study by the Project on Government Oversight, which showed that billions of taxpayer dollars could be saved if contractors were not being paid 1.83 times that of the average public employee for performing comparable services. This finding flies in the face of smaller government advocates who strongly support outsourcing government work to contractors without looking at the costs.
