I am cautiously optimistic at this time that what I feared most is not going to take place.
My greatest concern was that with all the mega money flowing in from anonymous donors and the propensity Republicans have to lie and misconstrue any and all issues that the voters would buy into it. Of course, there will always be a segment of the population who will continue to watch Fox and listen to Rush but it is becoming clear now that the majority of the people are not buying what Republican-Teahadists are selling.
And if you couple that with the Occupy Wall Street grassroots movement I think that the signs are there and the Teabaggers ought to be reading their tea leaves by now. One after the other from Ohio’s repeal of anti-labor laws to Maine’s early voting to be restored and then the Mississippi rejection of this “personhood” crap gives me reason to believe that our good old American people came through for America. It is “we the people” expressing themselves through the democratic process.
It is not surprising then that Republicans are hell bent on rigging the elections by disenfranchising voters, seeking to have less people to vote when we should be aiming to have more voter participation and making it easier for them to do so….so how about changing the voting day from Tuesday to Saturday…or even both Saturday and Sunday?
