Did you come up with some invention or provided a unique service?
No, you didn’t, you merely took pizzas made by underpaid workers and sold them to the public at outrageous prices…your profit margins were large and all the while you took advantage of all the public services like police, fire department, roads, sewers and water and you haven’t given diddly back to your community.
And you have the audacity to say that if we are unemployed it is our fault, if you are poor you are to blame…what parallel world have you been living in? I am sure that if there was no minimum wage laws you would have paid your employees .10cents per hour.
And honestly, Mr. Cain, did you really fill out those IRS forms without lying? Did you pad it here and there; did you exaggerate your expenses? I dare say you used every trick in the book to avoid paying your fair share of taxes while your underpaid employees who had to pay a bigger percentage than you did.
It is typical of the Republican mind set, it is endemic in those folks who adhere to Ayn Rand’s economic theories; totally unrealistic, totally devoid of reason and logic and most of all totally unpatriotic.
Someone ought to point out to Mr. Cain and other Republican-Teahadists where the philosophy of Ayn Rand is askew, her concepts totally diametrically opposed to anything and everything that is America. On top of that, I don’t know why these Republicans who consider themselves very Christian or more Christian than the rest of us…why do they admire Ayn Rand when she was an Atheist.
This is what is basically wrong with Ayn Rand’s rants and ethics: “Rand argued for rational egoism (rational self-interest), as the guiding moral principle. She said the individual should "exist for his own sake, neither sacrificing himself to others nor sacrificing others to himself." She controversially referred to egoism as "the virtue of selfishness" in her book of that title, in which she presented her solution to the is-ought problem by describing a meta-ethical theory that based morality in the needs of "man's survival qua man". She condemned ethical altruism as incompatible with the requirements of human life and happiness, and held that the initiation of force was evil and irrational, writing in Atlas Shrugged that "Force and mind are opposites".
Rand's political philosophy emphasized individual rights (including property rights), and she considered laissez-faire capitalism the only moral social system because in her view it was the only system based on the protection of those rights. She was a fierce opponent of all forms of collectivism and statism, including fascism, communism, socialism, and the welfare state. Rand believed rights should be enforced by a constitutionally limited government. Although her political views are often classified as conservative or libertarian, she preferred the term "radical for capitalism". She worked with conservatives on political projects, but she disagreed with them (and they with her) over issues such as religion and ethics. She denounced libertarianism, which she associated with anarchism. She rejected anarchism as a naïve theory based in subjectivism that could only lead to collectivism in practice. Some non-Objectivist philosophers, such as Norman P. Barry and Chandran Kukathas, have questioned her consistency in rejecting anarchism, while some self-proclaimed Objectivists called on her to endorse anarcho-capitalism.”*
We all know that our society is based on basic interface with other human beings with a hand being offered when others are facing trouble…that is the Christian way. Also, we are all in this experiment called DEMOCRACY together…we owe each other the respect of their rights and the preservation of society above the selfishness of individuals; We have seen this concept erode in the recent past, mostly promoted by ideologue Republicans who use Ms. Rand’s philosophy as their guide book. It is selfish, it is inconsiderate and it’s un-American.
