It is going to be Romney Republicans, now you have to live with it and shut the hell up.
Can you imagine if Republicans are not too enthused about Romney, how do Independents and Democrats feel? How do you think liberal-progressives see Romney? How do you think that people can dismiss such an asinine statement like “corporations are people, my friend”?
It is still an uphill battle for Romney since his opponents even though they are not getting delegates in any significant amount, yet they continue to give Romney a pain in the rear. They are actually chewing away at any popularity or credibility that Romney would have had as an “electable” candidate. Not surprising Saint Santorum won Ohio, Oklahoma and Tennessee and Contract on America Fire Janitors Gingrich won Georgia…no surprise there either.
It is clear now that notwithstanding some odd yet freaky incident, or an unforeseen war or attack, perhaps even a crash in the Stock Market or some astronomical rise in the price of gasoline…that the recovery will continue as anemic as it has due to all the Republican opposition to it and their sabotage.
But the American people are not stupid, they see all that, they see the writing on the wall and they will not vote Republican this election cycle…particularly women; as shown in polls most women n- at the very least 60% of them are not in favor of Romney for President thanks to their anti-abortion, anti-birth control stupid positions and Rush’s asinine insults to that college student did not help either.
The Republican strategy has backfired miserably and their intention in turning this election into a referendum on the economy was not going to work so they went to their customary social issues crap and they have shown how terribly radical they are. Americans are in the middle, decent, tolerant and mind your own business type of people…the Republicans were counting on this morality-guilt, fundamentalist type of outlook and the American people are not giving it to them.
The Republicans said goodbye to blacks long ago, the Hispanics were never on board and were totally turned off with Arizona’s “show me your papers law” that has been copied in other states …then the labor unions were next, gays were excluded from the beginning and now it is about the Republicans being anti-women.
The Teabaggers, well, they were not really a grassroots movement from the outset but an Astroturf fabricated and funded by special interests who were played like violins…and they will be relegated to an insignificant role in this election albeit the insistence of Republicans on pandering to that Teabagger and Evangelical base.
Even with the Republican effort to disenfranchise voters, rig elections, injecting unlimited amounts of funds made possible by the Supremes’ Citizen United decision, and with a whole network propaganda channel serving the GOP it is not going to be enough…So, live with it Republicans and look forward to a defeat the likes of which we have not seen in recent history and which promises to be even more humiliating than the defeat Goldwater received in 1984; it couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of people.
But maybe this may make for a teaching moment, it might even correct the direction the Republican Party has been going for the past 30 years…not only have they failed miserably with their economic ideology…that of TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMICS but also their outlook on the role of America in the world, the endless perks and tax reductions to the very wealthy and the corporations have only caused resentment and as we may see soon enough the defeat and even the demise of the Republican Party. This opportunity is one that will show Republicans that the American people just don’t want to go on the radical right wing path designed and promoted by Republicans…it is a referendum on the kind of America we have been, we are and we want to continue to be.
