But some very poignant points on where Republicans stand

I wrote a post back in October of 2009 of what would a Palin Presidency be like. I am now offering a new historical account as seen in the year 2020.
The year 2012 brought some significant changes to America. After the overwhelming defeat of all Democratic candidates and all incumbents of either party in 2010, the ultra-right wing of the Republican Party took over all aspects of the nomination and election processes. Emboldened by a questionable grassroots movement otherwise known as the Tea Party these elements were able to successfully hijack the mainstream and less aggressive majority of the Republican Party.
The nomination of Sarah Palin came as a surprise because everyone was expecting the Republicans to maintain a certain degree of sanity and to not risk losing an election by nominating someone too right wing that would not have been acceptable to the majority of the American voter. But the anointed candidate had been Mitt Romney and a series of gaffs and general lack of enthusiasm over his nomination brought about some unexpected and phenomenal events at the Republican National Convention in Tampa in 2012.
Since Romney did not have the required number of delegates the nomination became open and let it be said that delegates were being passed around like a joint at a hippie party. Out of the chaos resulting from all of these anomalies the Tea Baggers once more had their way and somehow maneuvered, cajoled and cheated and made Sarah Palin the nominee.

President Obama, as hard as he tried was unable to bring unemployment down and the oil crisis brought about by Iran’s blocking of the Straits of Hormuz also brought catastrophic effects to the already beleaguered economy.
The oil companies and the speculators drove the price of gasoline so high that any gains in employment and recovery that the Democrats and the President had been able to achieve were erased that painful summer of 2012.
To make matters worse, there were a couple of more massive economic failures in Europe. Both Spain and Portugal suffered the same crisis that Greece had gone through earlier; but the economic repercussions were felt in the American economy and in Wall Street. This was also followed by an armed confrontation in the Straits of Hormuz and the American involvement in the bombing of Syria, so that technically the United States was involved in three wars: Persian Gulf against Iran, Syria against the dictator in power and Afghanistan.
But all bets were off and all the pundits and experts misread the feeling throughout the country. America did want to go to the extreme right. The amount of frustration and discontent was such that people became hypnotized by the Tea Bag Party and would go to demonstrations, interrupt Democratic and Republican political rallies alike, and the result was the eventual election of Sarah Palin as the 45thPresident of the United States.
Never mind that at the end both candidates were just about even in the number of votes and in the Electoral College delegates; so that there was a mirror image of what happened in 2000 when Bush didn’t really win the elections. There was widespread voter suppression and disenfranchising as well as inordinate amounts of anonymous money coming from the very wealthy and the corporations to fund the Palin campaign.

President Obama moved out of the White House and accepted an invitation to go into exile in Kenya, the birthplace of his father and was given honorary citizenship. The now ex-President made statements to the press that he was only going to make one pronouncement: He will not grant any interviews nor would he give opinions on anything happening in the United States and he also made it clear that he would not return to America while the Republicans-Tea Baggers were in power. He said that he got “burned by Republicans for trying to be bi-partisan and for making an effort to work with them”.
Right following her inauguration, one of the Supreme Court Justices had a piece of meat lodged in his windpipe and died. President Sarah had been in office only three days and she immediately nominated Alberto Gonzalez to the Supreme Court. The whole confirmation process only took a week and the time given by the President was less than three weeks, so that roughly one month after her inauguration Alberto Gonzalez became a Supreme Court Justice to replace the liberal one who died.
One of the first cases to come before the Supreme Court was that of Fox News seeking to claim exclusive rights to film and broadcast “The Rapture” It's now official: God hates the liberal media. That's because Fox won the right to broadcast the Rapture in that Supreme Court case.
In a surprise to everyone except decent folk everywhere, Fox now has exclusive rights to the Rapture, including the name, book rights, movie rights, and product tie-ins. Other networks can't even use the word Rapture without mentioning Fox News.
"We went after this because we know Fox is filled with decent, upright, liberal-bashing, true believers and the other networks aren't," a FOX spokesman said. "We want decency to return to the Homeland and to televisions everywhere. That's why Fox has to be the one to broadcast the Rapture. Who wants Anderson Cooper or Keith Olbermann to broadcast it? Maybe a secular humanist pinko Marxist Homeland hating college professor!"
No one at Fox has explained, however, who might want to watch a telecast of The Rapture if the world truly ends then. Or who would want to read the books, watch the movies, or buy T-shirts and coffee cups with something like "The Rapture brought to you by Fox" written on them with no humans left in the world to do that.
Despite that inherent contradiction, Fox executives are very upbeat, as are Fox stockholders. Fox stock went up 50 percent on news of this upcoming telecast.
"We are proud to show this event because we expect it to surpass the combined popularity of the Super Bowl, World Series, Masters Golf Tournament, and Florida 2000 vote count," a Fox spokesman said. "Viewers should be extremely excited about this. Nothing like this has ever been on TV before. Not even The O'Reilly Factor, as important as that show is, could hope to be this big."
Among her Presidential directives enacted only hours after taking office; were the following: The Pledge of Allegiance should be followed immediately by a Christian prayer and an official declaration by the Sarah Government was broadcast and published in all the major newspapers and publications: The United States is indeed a Christian nation and anyone disputing this or questioning it would be deported along with 11 million undocumented aliens.
This mass deportation had already been planned in the months preceding her inauguration. Once she became President, the mechanism and infrastructure was already there in place to begin these mass deportations. A few thousand fourth and fifth generation Mexican Americans were rounded up with these others but they were not even allowed to call a lawyer or collect their legal papers from their homes. Today, they are sitting in Cuernavaca in a make-shift community for American exiles.
Canada has also opened up its gates to a very large number of people who fear persecution. Among these are a couple of million homosexuals and half a million of Jewish and Muslim faiths. The waiting list is so large that Canada can’t cope with the onslaught of new refugees arriving in Toronto and Vancouver each day. It has become a human crisis for them.
Two very urgent and lightening fast Constitutional Amendments were passed within 100 days of Sarah Palin’s Inauguration to the Presidency: One was the official definition of marriage being between one man and one woman only and two: A woman does not have a right to her own body, abortions are now illegal and Roe vs. Wade is declared void. All efforts to bring it to a hearing to the Supreme Court have been blocked and that is that.The passing of this brought about a series of attacks on gays where there were hundreds of deaths as a result of hate crimes encouraged by the government and gone unpunished.
There was one more Constitutional Amendment proposed by the Sarah Palin Government. It is a two prong law. First it prohibits the use of any language other than English anywhere in the United States (including the United Nations which has been asked to move its headquarters from New York) and two; the “show me your papers” Arizona law is now a Federal Law within this amendment which is in the process of being passed.
There have been some significant developments in Afghanistan. Shortly after President Obama finished pulling all US troops out of the country, the Taliban and Al-Qaida returned with a vengeance. A civil war has erupted in that country and by the time Sarah Palin took office it was a full blown conflict, and as was expected, the United States sent troops to fight there again.
Sarah Palin decided to send 150,000 US troops to fight in that country and promised to send 200,000 more within a short period of time. In order to do this the military draft was put back into effect. There were also very mysterious long range missile bombings in Iran. It is not clear whether these were American or Israeli. But the amount of damage done and the collateral loss of life is believed to be in the hundreds of thousands. The whole Arab-Muslim world is totally pissed at America now.
Sadly, there was a second Stock Market crash. It happened on Sarah Palin’s 10th month in office and just like clockwork, the collapse of financial institutions “too big to fail” followed. The number of businesses filing for bankruptcy quadrupled during the first half of 2013 and the Republicans were blaming the Democrats and President Obama for this failure.

Nobody has the statistics because the Palin administration has now suspended the efforts to measure unemployment and economic growth. Thousands of Federal Employees working in these endeavors have been laid off. However, according to learned economists unemployment is hovering at about 32% while the total number of home foreclosures has reached an all time high of 62 million.
Not a pretty picture I can guarantee…there are riots and crime in our cities, as police everywhere has either been reduced or eliminated altogether due to budget restraints.
There are children roaming the streets unsupervised and hungry, diving into garbage cans looking for their supper. Public schools are closing and there is no place for these poor children to go to. Their parents are living out of cardboard boxes underneath the freeways; these number in the hundreds of thousands perhaps as many as one or two million people.
Two other significant events happened well into Sarah Palin’s second year as President. There was a massive oil spill in Alaska and it happened in November, when the ice was already thick on the surface and there was no alternative than to wait until summer to try to stop it.
Then the winter of 2014 was the worse one on record. Snowfalls measured in the feet, not inches all over the Northern Hemisphere. The Climate Change deniers pointed to that and said that the earth was cooling and not warming. But with millions of people without shelter living under bridges the deaths due to the cold weather was in the hundreds of thousands. They were being bulldozed into trucks sent in by the municipalities to be buried in mass graves. While they were praying everywhere and singing “America the Beautiful” and “God Bless America”
All of America was just starting to recuperate from the deadly winter and in comes hurricane season. There were three major storms hitting the mainland and one particular one, Carlotta, skirted the entire East coast dwarfing Katrina and Andrew tenfold. The other two storms that followed were not any less destructive: Fern and Hubert entered the Gulf of Mexico and one made landfall in the Pensacola area causing the largest destruction path ever recorded and the other storm Hubert landed near Port La Vaca, Texas and the effects of this was as severe. All in all, there were more than 12 million left homeless and over 22,000 deaths as a result of these three storms.
All good things must come to an end. In a surprise move Sarah Palin while delivering her second State of the Union Address also announced her resignation to the Presidency, quitting half way into her term just as she did while Governor of Alaska. She said that “the liberal-progressive media” was to blame for the failures of her administration and that she didn’t want to go on as President as long as Americans were being misled by these left wing conspirators. The rumors contradict this as it is said that President Palin was unable to handle the stress and is said to have suffered a melt-down.
It was then that Vice President Tom Tancredo became the 46thPresident of the United States. He inherited an insurmountable national debt, three wars, 32% unemployment and a much divided country along racial and religious lines. The move to turn America into a theocracy was running full force and Tancredo ran for re-election against Democratic candidate and openly gay Congressman Barney Frank.
Barney Frank had retired from politics but he was drafted by Democrats after Hillary Clinton suffered some serious health issues due to overwork and fatigue and was not able to accept the Democratic Nomination for President in 2016.
Frank received the largest plurality in the history of the United States. More than 82% of the votes went to Barney Frank, never mind he was gay; but the American people were fed up with the Republicans, Tea Baggers, Evangelicals and ultra-right conservatives. Trouble was President Frank inherited an even bigger mess than Obama and he was despondent and edgy on his inauguration day because he knew what awaited him was an impossible task and not humanly possible to overcome.Get the picture? Don’t say it can’t happen.
