REPUBLICAN IDEOLOGY: ONE BAD IDEA AFTER ANOTHER

Whether it originated with Ayn Rand or Reagan, or John Birch or Pat Robertson…Republicans are one sick bunch.

Racism, xenophobia and homophobia run rampant within the ranks of the Republican ideology. It is not a secret nor is it something they are ashamed of. But when it comes to manning up to it, to recognize their prejudices and animosity issues the Republicans would much rather sweep it under the rug.

We see how time and time again the Republicans have introduced outlandish legislation that either discriminates or humiliates one particular group of people or minority…and it is always accompanied by some lame excuse, like disenfranchising voters because the claim of voter fraud needs to be addressed when there really isn’t any and the motivation is to keep minorities from voting.

Another good example is the problem of undocumented aliens and their offspring. This is such a thorn on the side of the Republicans that they are willing to bypass it, to overlook it and go on to place a band-aid on a festering wound when in reality, if most of them had their way they would actually deport 12 million people.

You also have the gay issue which is a reality nobody can ignore…because people are born with it and the majority of Republicans claim it is an acquired taste like wanting to eat escargot or a chosen lifestyle as in taking a membership in a country club to partake of the activities that will provide a certain lifestyle…but no, the Republicans even go to lengths to avoid even talking about it…in some places the word “GAY” has been removed from usage.

Because the NRA has had a great deal of influence on Republicans (some on Democrats as well) the issue of any type of gun control is a sensitive issue with them, and yet when we see repeated incidents of gun violence caused by the relaxation of gun control laws or even the promotion of bearing arms, the extreme right dismisses it as a conspiracy to take away their Second Amendment Rights.

Most Republicans, if you really dig deep enough will harbor some racist or white supremacist ideas. It easily explains their visceral dislike for our President who regardless of the almost impossible mess he inherited has been able to turn lemons into lemonade. Yet, the Republican’s number one priority is not the fixing the economy they screwed up or ending unemployment they are responsible for creating, but get Obama out of the White House is a number one priority.

We look further into other racial issues like for example the Trayvon Martin murder and even if the Florida law that allowed this deranged and racist individual to own and carry that weapon, even if ex-Governor Jeb Bush’s hands are stained with the blood of this young man…the Republicans are scrambling to assassinate him again, this time since he is physically dead…it is to kill his character and make him appear like some kind of dangerous thug…so that the killing itself could be excused because the dead person was of no worth.

You have assholes like Limbaugh actually saying that we are paying far too much attention to this case. The media has concentrated on this killing disproportionately and has concentrated on it far too much. Perhaps if Mr. Limbaugh could see it from another angle…actually be thankful, as I see it, Mr. Limbaugh was under attack for some insensitive and insulting remarks he had made…as he usually does, but this time it got people angry enough to motivate them to seek his removal and to urge sponsors to stop advertising and it was a success…until the Trayvon Martin killing when the media attention shifted from Limbaugh to this murder…and the asshole lived to see another day of spewing hatred on the radio.

There is an obsession on the part of Republicans that has reached fever pitch, something about socialism encroaching on our individual liberties, how horrible the government is because it wants to interfere into our lives. Yet, what do we see them do instead? Draconian, humiliating and misogynist laws that allow for invasive vaginal prodding, denying females the health care they need and even demonizing birth control. In any case, yes, to Republicans the government is intrusive and it can’t do anything right…but it is perfectly acceptable to have the government invade a woman’s womb or police the gay bedrooms of America….then the Government is doing its job.

The number of issues could easily be counted in the hundreds, but here are forty of the ones I consider crucial at the center of CONSERVATIVE VALUES:

1.    SELF RELIANCE, the government has to stop helping people.

2.    ABORTION, CONTRACEPTION and HOMOSEXUALITY are immoral and should be criminalized.

3.    Nobody has the right to OWN A HOUSE, HAVE A JOB or receive MEDICAL CARE.

4.    A minimum wage is what is causing unemployment

5.    Government gives Blacks other people’s hard earned money.

6.    Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security are inherently evil and it is SOCIALISM and has to be done away with.

7.    Take America hostage to exact the right wing demands as was done with the deficit ceiling.

8.    LIFE IS SACRED…the unborn have to be protected but the grownups can be executed or sent to die in an unnecessary war.

9.    THE POOR don’t matter, they are not concerned about them, they are parasites who don’t want to work, and they deserve to be poor.

10. Regulating and protecting the food supply is unnecessary and makes food more expensive. Protecting the environment is absurd and costly, causes job losses as do safety regulations; there is no such thing as CLIMATE CHANGE.

11. Automobile companies shouldn’t have been helped, let them go bankrupt, Wall Street and the big banks do.

12. The Republican number one priority is to make Obama a one term President.

13. Help for victims of natural disasters should only be given if it is paid for or withdrawn from some other government expenditure.

14. LABOR UNIONS are not needed, not wanted, and nor welcomed

15. A majority in the Senate is no longer 50 +1 but a SUPERMAJORITY of 60 under the duress of a filibuster threat.

16. Gay people can get married…to someone of the opposite sex, the SANCTITY OF MARRIAGE has to be protected at all costs.

17. Teachers, firefighters, law enforcement, sanitation workers and government employees don’t have the right to organize and have a labor union represent them.

18. CHILD LABOR LAWS are stupid and force youngsters to fall deeper into poverty. They should be given jobs cleaning the school and fire all the union janitors.

19. Government has the right to stop people from pursuing their dream.

20. HOME FORECLOSURES shouldn’t be questioned or stopped, let the process run its course and the housing market will return to normal.

21. It doesn’t matter if people are left homeless, FORECLOSURES are necessary for the market adjustments.

22. It is un-American to criticize business like playing the blame game with the oil companies for an ecological disaster.

23. Young people and Blacks can’t be trusted to vote because they will vote LIBERAL.

24. Government can’t do anything right, Congress operates under the assumption that it is designed not to work.

25. Americans should be forced to listen to religious messages.

26. Americans should suffer because suffering is good

27. Eliminating minimum wage would help poor people get jobs.

28. The greater meltdown over the long-term for this country is having the government inject itself into the private sector in such a huge way. Allow the capitalist system to work.

29. PLANNED PARENTHOOD is evil we should get rid of it.

30. Don’t feed the poor because just like stray animals they will get used to being fed.

31. Wealthy people don’t have to pay taxes if they don’t want to because they can move their money somewhere else. The rich and the corporations deserve tax breaks because they create jobs. Wealth will eventually trickle down to the lower income people.

32. Stop killing babies and cock fights, dog fights are not that bad, neither is hunting for pleasure.

33. A man’s permission should be required for a woman to have an abortion.

34. Advocating for shooting Democratic Senators as a way to pass the destructive Ryan budget plan

35. We need a candidate who’s going to be a fighter for freedom, unemployment and the economy are not that important.

36. The role of President of the United States should be secondary; the Congress should be the ones leading the country and the President signing these legislations into law.

37.Extreme poverty doesn’t exist in America.

38. There is income inequality in America. There always has been and hopefully there always will be.

39. Victims of rape resulting in pregnancy should have that child.

40. Citizens United is the correct Supreme Court ruling because CORPORATIONS ARE PEOPLE.

Republicans have a wicked plan for America. They plan to wipe out women’s rights. They plan to restrict voting rights. They plan to legalize discrimination against homosexuals and ethnic minorities. They plan to wage endless wars in the name of religious extremism. They plan to eliminate Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and public education. They plan on encouraging violence through pro-gun legislation. They plan to force their twisted version of Christianity upon us. And they plan to make the poor and middle class suffer while making the lives of the wealthy more lavish. It is a frightening agenda that is entirely un-American and unconstitutional.

The Republicans even have one deranged, extremist Congressman from Florida who is now claiming that there are 77 or more communists in the Congress...that is our honorable and competent West.
