The BBC Looks At Romney & Mormonism

– A view from a different perspective.

I have to admit that as I was watching this video I was becoming more uncomfortable with every frame…to the point that I actually had to skip parts of it. Don’t worry, I forced myself to return to it to see it in full. But the feeling it left me with was still the same: despair and frustration that a man like Mitt Romney could actually have a chance at becoming President of this great nation of ours…and if he does…it will not be great nor will it have democracy or separation of church and state.

I know, I know...there should not be any kind of criteria banning anyone from becoming President regardless of the religion they adhere to...but...here is that ever pesky question: When a person's religious ideology overcomes everything else; including friends, family and country, then we have to figure that in as a factor.

I don't think that I would ever vote for someone who believes in Creationism or who thinks Armageddon is just around the corner. The reason is this: why would anybody want to participate in representing the people or build roads, bridges and educating the young if the world is about to end?

When it comes to Mormons I also have to draw the line because these are people who believe in something so outlandish that one has to question their intelligence or lack of it.

I have a very simple criteria: If a Mormon family finds out one of their offspring is gay...they will bring them to the Mormon church, subject them to humiliation and ridicule and have them excommunicated. That is bad enough, but this family will also kick those youngsters out and separate them from their family...this is done to them although they can't help what they are because God made them that way...Mormons fail to grasp that concept.
