Tony Perkins: Christians Need To Work Harder To Destroy the Lives of Gays

Christianist-Homophobia can be so overwhelming that it deprives people of their common sense, intelligence and even turns them into monsters.

Not going down and setting up tents out in front of city hall, but it’s time for us to be gainfully involved in boldly proclaiming truth and not backing down in the face of intimidation, whether it be from a school principal, kids if you’re listening obviously talk with your parents first, and parents, don’t be intimidated by school officials, don’t be intimidated by the ACLU. NOTE: Despite Perkins' notorious past and present affiliations, he continues to be the go-to "social issues conservative" for television news. In the past month he has appeared on virtually every network.

I don’t think that Tony Perkins even remotely gets it. This homophobia of his may just be his own inability to deal with his own homosexuality or then again it could just be plain ignorance.

No, Mr. Perkins, we are not looking for validation…least of all your validation. What we are fighting for is to have the same rights as everyone else, not to be discriminated by people like you; not to be bullied because you think we are somehow inferior or not worthy of God’s favors.

I have news for you Mr. Perry – The Creator had a purpose for each and every one of us including you. Perhaps God meant for you to exist so that we can learn what the naked hatred and putrid homophobia you are peddling is all about…I don’t know because unlike you, I don’t even presume to interpret the Creator’s intentions, his words, his overall plan.

There are a couple of things that you Mr. Perkins and all those religious homophobes out there need to learn and that is that just because you insert a penis into a vagina that doesn’t make you superior or worthy of heaven if there is indeed one.

What you want is not giving us validation…we don’t want it or need it; but it is to have the government put its seal of approval on your desire to discriminate and be an asshole.
