It took the mass indignation of the American people to finally agree to the payroll tax cut.
Washington (CNN) -- Speaker John Boehner on Thursday accepted a two-month extension of the payroll tax cut, succumbing to mounting pressure from the White House, congressional Democrats and fellow Republicans to reverse his House leadership's opposition to the Senate-passed proposal.*
No longer could the Republican-Teahadist confuse the issue or offer some outlandish talking point. They have no way of mudding the issue, they have no excuse to justify obscene tax cuts for the wealthy and make the average American do without $40.00 per paycheck.
Forty dollars! It may be insignificant to any of these fat, rich cats but that forty bucks means a meal on the table, a tank of gas, a co-payment of some med…And the American people are no longer distracted by Dancing With The Stars or the Republican three ring circus that this nomination process has become.
But we are going to be faced with the same issue in two months and I am hoping that this small victory will bring solidarity with the Democrats and the President and discourage Republicans from hurting the working poor and the middle class any more than they already have.
