A Time-Lapse Map of Every Nuclear Explosion Since 1945 - by Isao Hashimoto
Japanese artist Isao Hashimoto has created a beautiful, undeniably scary time-lapse map of the 2053 nuclear explosions which have taken place between 1945 and 1998, beginning with the Manhattan Project's "Trinity" test near Los Alamos and concluding with Pakistan's nuclear tests in May of 1998. This leaves out North Korea's two alleged nuclear tests in this past decade (the legitimacy of both of which is not 100% clear).
Each nation gets a blip and a flashing dot on the map whenever they detonate a nuclear weapon, with a running tally kept on the top and bottom bars of the screen. Hashimoto, who began the project in 2003, says that he created it with the goal of showing"the fear and folly of nuclear weapons." It starts really slow — if you want to see real action, skip ahead to 1962 or so — but the buildup becomes overwhelming.

What is most disturbing to me is all this talk about bombing Iran…mostly coming from Republicans. Can’t they see the evil and danger of totally obliterating all life on this planet if they do that? But they keep rattling their sabers to gain votes from unreasonable, ignorant people.
Frankly, I don't expect Republicans to understand the consequences of a nuclear war...they are too ignorant and reject science...hell, they can't even wrap their puny minds around the very simple concept of climate change.
Yet, to a great many of them, a nuclear holocaust would be welcomed because that would bring to fruition their erroneous interpretations of the Scriptures by bringing about the doomsday prophecies. How in the hell are we going to expect Republicans to educate our children, feed the hungry, build roads and bridges and alternative sources of energy if they firmly believe the world is going to end the day after tomorrow?

Republicans are talking about deploying nuclear weapons. I think that they are not only misguided and obsessed by an askew and perverse ideology but they are
Fucking Crazy!
