AS THE LAST OF OUR TROOPS PULL OUT OF IRAQ

There are a lot of things that still need to be said

Some things have been said before by hundreds if not thousands of people, pundits, journalists and politicians. Some other things seem to have been conveniently forgotten and trivialized by those who got us into that war in the first place. It is not in the best interest of these war loving Republicans to have the general public remember or even think about the real reasons we got involved in that conflict and how we did it.

We heard throughout this war the “CUT AND RUN” argument to make us all ashamed to be leaving something that had no reason to exist nor any sense in maintaining. Now this argument is coming back from the mouths of those very Republicans who gave us the gift of that war. Wonderful war, wasn’t it?

We Americans were told by the Bush government that an eminent threat existed that was a threat to our security because Iraq had actually managed to produce and accumulate WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION and were more than willing to use them and did not care who they killed as was demonstrated by their ruthless genocide that had been carried out by Hussein against the Curds.

Under the fear of mushroom clouds destroying our cities Americans became scared shitless having very fresh in their memories the 9/11 attacks. The Republicans capitalized on this fear and went ahead with an unnecessary war invading a country that had not imparted any damage or attack on America and worst of all, anyone who would object or even offer the smallest criticism would be labeled pro-Terrorist. Many politicians objected to this war as well as many countries…France being one of them suffered the brunt of repudiation from our government to the point that even FRENCH FRIES were vilified.

Of course, those special interests that wanted the war to benefit contractors like Blackwater and Halliburton included our own Vice-President Dick Cheney who still defends that fucking immoral war to this day. The military industrial complex was pleased as punch to have America spend large sums of money in their war production and saw outrageous profits; some of which were fraudulent or overpriced.

Why don’t we stop kidding ourselves and accept the fact that we went into Iraq for two major reasons: TO BENEFIT THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX and CONTROL OF THE IRAQI OIL FIELDS. It is as simple as that and anybody who tells you different is being disengeneous.

Never mind that Saddam Hussein had no real ties to Al Qaida or the man who masterminded the Twin Towers and Pentagon attacks: Osama bin Laden; the invasion went on and after a few months of frantically trying to find those WMD’s nothing significant was found. The Bush administration even considered planting some but soon found out that was easier said than done. They were left totally discredited and with egg on their faces…but worst of all they got us into a war that lasted almost 10 years and thousands of our servicemen and women’s lives.

The Bush loudmouth spokespersons assured us that our troops would be met with flowers and cheers by the Iraqi people and that it was an easy cake walk that would only require our military presence there for a few short months.

BUT WE ARE NEVER GOING TO LET THEM FORGET, ARE WE?
