America has seen its share of division and partisan politics, all through its history and particularly as of late. At one point we even fought a Civil War over whether it was right for one human being to be the owner of another human being. I think that as far as human behavior and ideology, that was perhaps the lowest point in the history of this great nation. We even see at the present the Governor of Virginia telling us that we should celebrate the Confederacy and what it stood for or several governors in Wisconsin, Ohio, Florida doing their best to disenfranchise voters and take away labor union's rights.
These have not been met with acceptance from the general population, on the contrary...we saw in Wisconsin how massive demonstrations took place to oppose the decimation of labor unions. We are now into the third month of Occupy Wall Street which by all accounts was supposed to be a futile effort of dirty hippie hell bent on bringing anarchy to America and it has grown to be a grassroots movement - a real one that has defied all odds and contradicted all predictions. And this movement is growing more as the mayors and the establishment attempt to suppress it by brutal force.
At the present, we have a similar division to that we lived through during the civil war but it is one of culture and priorities, of principles and misunderstandings, of truths as opposed to propaganda and demagoguery.

I can’t understand why it is that Republicans place such a preponderance of importance on the right of a business entity to make a profit, sometimes even an obscene and ill gotten profit, over the very existence of American citizens. To me it is clear: do we favor profit over life, are we so enamored with the almighty dollar and the lure of greed that we dare place these over life itself? The Republicans are angry, the Tea baggers are angry, the racists, Birthers and libertarians are angry and rightfully so. They just lost one big battle. But their claims that the majority of the American people are with them in this anger and frustration is questionable as I would dare anybody to prove to me that Americans choose no health care,
possible death over the profits of health insurance companies. Neither do I believe that the majority of Americans would want to abolish Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, Public Education and have no regulations in the marketplace, no safety laws, no public safety, etc. you get the picture?

However big and confounding the success of Republicans to misinform and vilify this Health Care legislation, the President and Congress; it could not possibly take root or last very long if people stop to think that this is about life…this is about health and this is about rejecting a status quo that has for too long tolerated the insurance industry to hold Americans hostage, to apply extortion and fear in order to even exist. And it isn't just the Health Care Issue...it deals with each and every piece of legislation that the President and the Democrats have tried to enact. It is a Congress that goes against the will of the very people who elected them and their actions can only be classified as SABOTAGE.
This, coming from a group or a business enterprise that does not provide a product or even a service that has absolutely a redeeming value to society and exists only for the sole purpose of making a profit - that is a very hard pill to swallow.

It is becoming very clear that REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH has already taken place and the American people don't like it one bit. It is also evident that Christianist-Dominionists are hard at work to turn our country into a theocracy. We are getting a two-punch attack on our democracy and our way of life; on our freedom of speech and our right to vote. We see how these people would like to return to a day back in the 1900's where corporations were kings and minorities second class citizens while the WASPs held the power and out of those only one percent held the wealth. There hasn't been anything like that in recent history and it looks like it has to end before we are given back the AMERICAN DREAM.
